Connect your watch to Prymo

⌚️

Prymo does not talk to Garmin, COROS, Fitbit, Suunto or Amazfit directly. It reads your finished runs out of Apple Health — the place all of those apps already write to. One permission, every brand.

Why it works this way

Each watch maker has its own account system and its own API, and connecting to them individually would mean handing a third party your login for each one. Apple Health sits on your iPhone instead: your watch's companion app writes workouts into it, and Prymo asks for permission to read them. Nothing is sent to the watch maker, Prymo never sees your account with them, and the data never leaves your phone except as part of your own Prymo history.

What you need to do

If you use an Apple Watch, there is nothing to set up on the watch side. The built-in Workout app already saves every session to Apple Health. Connect Apple Health in Prymo and your runs appear.

For Garmin Connect, COROS, Fitbit, Suunto and Amazfit, the brand's own iPhone app is the bridge, and it needs to be allowed to write to Health:

  1. Open the watch brand's app on your iPhone.
  2. Go into its settings and look for Apple Health — it is sometimes called Health App, Health Sync or Apple Health Integration.
  3. Turn on writing workouts to Health. Some apps ask you to pick which data types to share; workouts and distance are the ones that matter.
  4. Record a run on your watch and let the app finish syncing it. This is the step people skip: the workout has to land in Health before Prymo can see it.
  5. Open Prymo, go to Settings → Connections → Running watch, and connect Apple Health.

What Prymo imports

Prymo pulls in runs from the last 90 days that it did not record itself. It skips anything that overlaps a run you already have — so if you tracked a session in Prymo and your watch recorded the same session, you get one entry, not two. Imported runs are labelled with their source, so you can always tell a Garmin import from a run you tracked in the app.

Sessions that are not runs — strength work, cycling, anything else in Health — do not come across automatically. You can add them yourself from Settings → Connections → Apple Health, which lists everything from the last 30 days with an Import button on each.

If nothing shows up

Check these in order. First, open the Health app, go to Browse → Activity → Workouts, and confirm the run is actually there. If it is not, the problem is between your watch and its own app, not Prymo. Second, open iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Prymo and make sure workout access is on — iOS never tells an app that it was denied read access, so a refused permission looks exactly like an empty Health.

Finally, remember that watch apps sync on their own schedule. A run recorded on a Garmin can take a few minutes to reach Health after your watch reconnects to your phone. Pull to refresh in Prymo once it has.

Disconnecting

Turning the connection off in Prymo stops all future reads immediately. Runs already imported stay in your history — they are part of your training record now, and deleting them is a separate decision you can make per activity.
